Bio

Chuck Okudo is an award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist. Early in life, his parents introduced him to music. From the age of five, Chuck began taking piano lessons and was trained in classical piano. In particular, his mother, a trained classical alto soloist and dermatologist, ensured to push Chuck to train hard in his musical studies. Chuck eventually started playing the organ at the age of fourteen and was organ scholar at Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral, Lagos.

 

Later in his teens, Chuck moved to Scotland where he studied Economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at The University of Aberdeen and St Andrews University, finishing with first class honours (summa cum laude).

 

Prior to composing for film and TV, Chuck composed and arranged music for orchestras and classical choirs. He has worked in several churches, musical societies and bands in varying capacities including as organist and choirmaster, conductor (choral and orchestral) and band leader. Chuck is versatile and competent in numerous musical styles including jazz, soul, R&B, gospel, highlife and afrobeat. A multi instrumentalist, Chuck also plays bass guitar, drums, percussion and guitar.

Chuck has composed music for several live productions with his first film and most recent compositions being for the 2021 film, Eagle Wings, for which he won awards for Best Score at the Los Angeles Film Awards and Best Original Score at the Vegas Movie Awards.

 

Chuck currently resides with his family in the United States of America. In his spare time, Chuck is a Chartered Accountant. Chuck enjoys watching and playing football and is an avid fan of Manchester United Football Club. Chuck also enjoys cooking, spending time with his wife and daughter and travelling.
